Festival-Blogger: It’s Nico with a C!

Hi, my name is Nico and I am 25 years old – sometimes I freak out because of my age, I guess it all started when I got my grandparents’ birthday card saying something like ‘Now you’re a quarter of a century old’, what a bummer! I currently study ‘Wirtschaftsberatung & Unternehmensführung ‘ and work at an advertising & promotion agency during the week. In my leisure time I do things like this (blogging, and the things you do when you are 25 years old!).

My interest in fashion actually started quite late, if I remember correctly it was right after high school. I started going out in Vienna, met interesting people and was occasionally working at different fashion events. Getting confronted with new designers, national and international ones, new materials, new ways of wearing your clothes, I was soon pretty overrun by all the different possibilities and choices. It took me quite some time to figure out who I was/am, what I can/can’t wear and what looks good on me. I am getting better, but I believe I still have a lot to learn.

Almost everything I wear is black though. It’s a habit I picked up while working in New York for Dsquared2. Most of my friends were working for different PR agencies – where they only wear black. I loved the idea of focusing on just one ‘color’ – you can simply combine almost all your clothes, even wearing just an ordinary t-shirt and a pair of jeans gives your outfit an elegant glance. Besides it gave me the possibility of focusing on different cuts and materials rather than the color itself. I am obsessed with extraordinary cuts and I am the kind of person that would wear a top not because it’s comfortable but because it would look good on me – sometimes it can be true that fashion is not supposed to be comfortable ;-).

Some of my favorite brands/designers include Skingraft, Public School, ButterflySoulfire and Esther Perbandt – I prefer focusing on the clothes, not the gender.

I am totally looking forward to being part of the Take Festival!!!!

Xxx Nico
